Despite what people might tell you, LinkedIn is alive and well.
If you're running a freelance business, an agency, or anything else that involves marketing to other businesses, it's a fantastic way to connect with the right people.
It can also become source of new leads for your email list.
Anna Vital, the founder of a design agency called Adioma that specializes in infographics, is a great example.
She managed to attract a staggering 76,000 email subscribers, with just one lead generation freebie.
How?
She created a viral loop on LinkedIn.
Her giveaway, in exchange for the email addresses, was a set of Powerpoint templates.
Then, she wrote an article around it.
She added an eye-catching header image, as well as creating and linking to a landing page with an opt-in form.
Combining this with strategies designed to maximize the number of comments on LinkedIn — which is important for seeding viral potential — the strategy was an enormous success.

Create a Viral Loop on LinkedIn
Anna Vital was able to increase her list of email subscribers to more than 76k using a viral loop created on LinkedIn.
Here is what she did:
- Give something for free that is of considerable value for your target audience.
- Create a LinkedIn article to present your freebie.
- Compliment your article with a catchy header image.
- Outline the T&C clearly as Anna did in the below image:

- Include an opt-in form so that the readers can include their email id to get the deal.
- Ask your audiences to comment on the shared LinkedIn post by saying “Yes.”
- Once your article is ready, share it on your LinkedIn profile along with every other social profile that you are having. The goal is to get in as many audiences as possible.
- Once you start receiving comments, then reply to them in order to receive the initial traction.
- Email the content to all your existing email subscribers to help spread the word.
