To prepare for the holiday season Amazon is hiring over 70,000 full time workers:
The ecommerce giant announced Tuesday that it plans to hire 70,000 full-time workers for its fulfillment centers to keep up with increased demand during the holidays. Amazon says that represents a 40% increase from last year's seasonal hiring, suggesting that the company is optimistic about growing consumer demand this year.
Amazon says that out of their 100,000 plus regular employees “thousands” of them were originally seasonal. By tripling their numbers over the last 3 years they now employ double the numbers Google does.
