Neil Patel is what you might call a “marketing guru.”
He's built an incredibly strong personal brand for himself through his content strategy.
He regularly publishes helpful blog posts, videos, and podcasts for fellow marketers and entrepreneurs.
A lot of his content revolves around his own experiments, as he tries out new ways to drive traffic to his blog posts.
In a recent video, he explains that between December 2016 and January 2017, over a three week period, he was able to nearly double his search traffic.
And what he did was shockingly simple…
It has to do with the structure of his URL.
Removing certain information had a surprisingly big effect on his blog posts' Google rankings.
If you've been including the date in your own URL structure, it could have a similar effect for your own website.
In the video below, Neil gives a full explanation of what he did, why it works, and how you can implement the same strategy while preserving your internal link structure.
