Monday night Facebook launched their mobile payments product with payment processors PayPal, Stripe and Braintree. For this pilot Facebook has decided to partner with JackThreads apparel site and phot-book provider Mosaic.
This new feature, Autofill with Facebook, will make sending payments easier for those avid mobile shoppers. Below are a few more details of how this newest feature works in the iOS apps:
Users who have stored their billing information with the social network will be prompted to “Check out faster with Facebook” when they attempt to complete their transactions, and an “autofill your info” button will allow them to examine their payment details on the social network, as well as to select their shipping addresses. Only the last four digits of users’ credit-card numbers will be visible.
Autofill with Facebook saves users the trouble of repeatedly entering their payment information, which can be difficult on some mobile devices, given small screen sizes and touch-screen keyboards.
This not only saves the shopper time but it will increase conversion rates as it will result in less unprocessed payments and frustration.
Will you be testing this new Autofill with Facebook with the other ecommerce apps on your website?
