Even though his restaurant business is thriving, Cameron Mitchell talks about the F word – FEAR – and how challenging and unpredictable success can be.
His company, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, owns more than 30 restaurants in 12 states, and employs over 4,000 people.
In this interview, Mitchell is very candid about how strenuous and demanding entrepreneurship can be.
“I'm scared all the time,” he says. “But fear is like the sun coming up every day, it's always there. The same with competition, so you just have to go out and do it.”
I love that quote (and I bet Nike does too). Fear doesn't go away, but you just have to do it.
Mitchell also goes on to say, “I've never met a problem I can't solve. I'll either go around it, above it, or punch through it. We'll always come up with the answer and figure it out.”
It's all about conquering your fears so they aren't debilitating, and turning it into something that drives you.
Something that pulls you forward.
